Kennebunkport is a quiet romantic community with plenty to do all year long.
The commercial center of Kennebunkport is Dock Square where a guest may find small art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, gift shops, and lots of "Kodak" moments. The Kennebunk River splits the area in two and there are great sights of lobster boats, pleasure boats, and tourist cruise ships crowded around the wharves on the river.

Within two miles of Dock Square, Kennebunkport is the quint essential Maine coastal fishing village of Cape Porpoise. Lobster boats and brightly colored buoys dot Cape Porpoise harbor, sea worn lobster traps are heaped high on the fish pier reaching toward the sky where sea gulls whirl crazily overhead in the afternoon sun.
Two other important attractions within 5 miles of the Port are the Laudholm Farm National Estuary Reserve and the Rachael Carson Wildlife Preserve. Both of these nature areas provide you with scenic vistas, wooded hiking trails, and a peaceful opportunity to see wildlife.
Of course, a trip to Kennebunkport is not complete without a trip out "Ocean Ave" to view the rock-bound coastal vistas, the shingle-style "summer" cottages and President George Bush's family compound.
